Deanna & Jordan-Part 4 (But now just Deanna)

Now it's time for the third, and final, post covering the epic day of sightseeing with Deanna and Jordan. After the Horse Guards, we walked farther down the street towards Big Ben, but before we got there we saw this street sign:

And this was the closest we could get to #10 (I’ve zoomed past the armed police officers):

#10 Downing Street, the home of the Prime Minister, could have a new resident by the time I leave since elections are on May 6th.

And on our way to see Westminster Abbey we found a statue of none other than Abraham Lincoln:

Then it was time to take pictures of the Abbey, which had closed earlier that day:

Then we headed off to get pictures of Big Ben & The Houses of Parliament:

1) Oliver Cromwell Statue

2) Richard I Statue

3) Sovereign's Entrance

4) Big Ben

We then headed off to Buckingham Palace, but first had to walk through Green Park:

After a short walk through the Park, we arrived at Buckingham Palace:

Then we decided to head over to Hyde Park while there was still a little bit of daylight:

1) Wellington Arch

2) Tulips

Now that it was getting too dark to get pictures outside, we grabbed dinner at a pub just off Great Portland Street before heading up to the last few stops for the day. First was yet another Harry Potter filming location, this time it was the big one: King’s Cross Station. There is actually no platform between tracks 9 &10, which are in a newer annex to the station. Filming took place on the platform between tracks 3 & 4. But there is:

After getting the obligatory Harry Potter fan pictures, we headed over to St. Pancras, which is, in my opinion, one of the most beautiful stations.

It’s also the home to the Eurostar, the train that goes through the Chunnel and arrives in Paris a mere 2 hours and 20 minutes after leaving London.

I think this is a perfect opportunity to mention that in about 9 days I will be taking the Eurostar to Paris for the weekend with Terry.

Then it was off to the British Museum since it was open late on Thursdays. We arrived 15 minutes before they closed and had time only to see the Rosetta Stone and the Elgin Marbles. The pictures are pretty much the same from the last time I visited, so I won’t post them again.

The last stop for the day was by Tower Bridge to get a picture of it at night:
